Cliff and Bunting Model “W” Chaffcutter
The Cliff & Bunting Model “W” Chaffcutter is the smaller of the famous “Reliance” series of machines. Now manufactured by Dickins Engineers of Corowa, this machine embodies all of the features which have made it so reliable over the years, plus the strength and longevity of a modern steel frame, and self aligning ball bearings.
The “W” machine has a 10 1/4 inch mouth, a 5 knife wheel featuring Cliff & Bunting famous concave knives, large riddle area and double screw baggers. A full repeats handling system is incorporated.
The large feedbox of the “W” is fitted with a belt creep feed system and triple saftey rollers with reverse gear lever over feedbox.
The riddle box measures 144 inches long by 32 inches wide and uses taper bored hardwood sieves with tongue and groove joints and spring tensioning of the sieves to prevent buckling due to moisture expantion of the sieves. A full range of wooden sieves from 1/2 inch to 1 1/4 inch is available. A steamer drive incorporating a clutch can be fitted if required.
The double screw baggers use 16 inch diameter cylinders and are fitted with adjustable bag rings to allow the use of various sizes (heights) of bags. A fully adjustable band brake system is fitted to permit the operator vary bag weights as desired.
The patent concave knife grinder is supplied with each machine and is fully adjustable. It is fitted with a 1 HP eletric motor and V belt drive.
